About the Author

Jogen Devanga is a writer and world traveler with a deep interest in Eastern philosophy, spirituality, and storytelling. Inspired by works such as the Bhagavad Gita and Autobiography of a Yogi, he developed an early fascination with questions of consciousness, identity, and purpose.

After studying creative writing at New York University, he spent several years working in Hollywood negotiating contracts for television and film writers before turning his attention toward creating original stories of his own.

The Inspiration Behind Born Losers

While studying energy healing with shamans in Peru, Jogen experienced a vivid vision of an inverted pyramid hovering above a sacred ceremony in the Amazon rainforest. He later came to see the pyramid as a symbol of hierarchy and inequality — an experience that became the foundation for Born Losers.

Blending science fiction, satire, mythology, and social commentary, the story explores systems of power through the strange and unpredictable world of the Backward Galaxy.

A Story About Challenging Limitations

At its heart, Born Losers is a story about courage, identity, and questioning the structures that define human worth. Through Anika and Ramji’s journey across galaxies and realities, the novel invites readers to see beyond what is visible and imagine the possibility of change.
